About Scotia Wealth Management
The Lipsett Landry Group was formed in 2002 when Jim Lipsett and Marc Landry merged their respective practices.
With a combined 40+ years of experience in the investment industry, the central purpose of the merger was to create a proactive conservative team. Providing personal guidance and service is often promised but difficult to deliver, this is the core objective of our team. Our senior associate, Ginny, has 20+ years’ experience providing exceptional organization skills and administrative duties. Our team provides an environment of guidance and clarity where no opportunity is overlooked.
Jim has over 35 years’ experience in the wealth management industry. Over the decades he has worked with multiple generations of his clients to build, preserve, and transition their wealth. Customized planning must consider all elements of a client’s life cycle and be managed through a proactive conservative investment process. Jim and his team hold true to the core belief that a well-crafted financial plan should determine your investments; the market should not determine your future.
For over 20 years, Jim has been a coach and mentor in the financial management industry through the development of an apprenticeship program. It is a source of great pride to have helped many young financial advisors get their start and to see them go on to great personal success. Supporting charitable organizations and community groups over the years has been a strong focus. Jim enjoys spending time boating and cheering on his football and baseball teams.

With over 28 years of financial service experience, Marc started his career working as a bond trader on the mortgage-backed securities desk. Building on this experience, Marc specializes in creating customized portfolios blending fixed income, preferred shares, and common equity strategies on behalf of our clients. Marc’s core focus is to create comprehensive account overviews for each client that highlight the portfolio’s composition and explain how the selected securities complement one another in order to help achieve the client’s goals. Marc strives for immediate and accurate trade execution along with confirmation of the agreed upon suggestions. Along with the analysis of returns in writing during regular reviews, this process provides clients with clarity and transparency.
Marc is married with two daughters. His hobbies include playing kick-the-can and flashlight hide and go seek tag with his daughters, nephews and nieces. Any additional free time is spent passionately cheering on all Boston sports teams – Pats, Sox, Celts, and Bruins!

Spring Is in the Air
Spring is in the air, even though the snow came later than normal after a fairly mild winter. Soon the snow will recede and the sun will bring the warmth of summer. Spring is the season for gardening; canadablooms.com, opening the cottage, cottagelife.com, or enjoying a spring concert; mfchoir.com.
In many small towns, especially in Muskoka, discovermuskoka.ca, the sweet scent of maple sap boiling is evident.
