As we bid farewell to 2016 and look forward to a new year full of opportunity and promise, let’s take a moment to reflect. Every season has its own special gifts; hiking in the spring when everything is in bloom, swimming in the summer to escape the heat, taking in the amazing colours of fall and enjoying the cold crisp air of winter as we ski or snowmobile. Hopefully you enjoyed as much as possible.
As 2017 gets underway, we are celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday and there will be so much to do. The government is celebrating by offering free admission to our amazing Provincial Parks in 2017. Perhaps take an opportunity to enjoy live music such as the Mississauga Festival Choir performing their spring concert at the Living Arts center in May. If boating is your passion, the Antique and Classic Boat Society (ACBS-Toronto) is hosting its 37th annual Vintage Boat Show on July 8th at the Muskoka Wharf in Gravenhurst. This year’s theme is Birch Bark to Fibreglass, and they will celebrate 150 years of boating. Also participating in the show are the Muskoka Discovery Centre and the Canadian Canoe Museum.
Fine food and wine are some of life’s great pleasures. Canada boasts some of the best chefs and restaurants in the world and Canadian wine can compete on the global stage. Whether you mention Niagara, Prince Edward County, or Pele Island, touring wine country is always an adventure for the senses. The restaurant scene right here in Toronto is diverse enough to please any palate. Enjoy the very best in fine dining, like Harbour 60 in the heart of the downtown core, or discover that hidden gem like Napoli Centrale, tucked away near Bloor and Bathurst offering truly authentic Neapolitan Pizza.
Life is hectic these days, it’s so easy to focus only on the daily grind and miss the chance to enjoy the things that add balance to our lives.
The true power of money is that it allows you to do the things that are most important to you.
